    Fake plants or not?

We have a second home that we are selling in the near future, as I go through the site (which I love by the way) I am getting all kinds of ideas of what I should and shouldn't do to prepare the home for a sale.  One question I have is about fake plants.  I'm not a big fake plant fan but because we aren't always at the home to keep real plants alive, we went ahead and decorated parts of the home with fake plants.  Are fake plants seen as unattractive to home buyers?  Even if only 30% of buyers (or whatever the % is) don't like fake plants, are we better off going with something else in their place?  See pictures below.

My suggestion to you is that greenery adds "life" to the home.  If you aren't able to be home to maintain live plants, or don't have a green thumb to keep them up, I think you should keep the fake plants...with the caveat that they are quality fake plants that aren't full of dust and have a resemblance to the real deal!

    Hope this helps!

     Hi Shawna,

When I stage vacant properties I use faux greenery as I think some spaces need it. I ike to bring the "outdoors in".

There are a lot of high quality, "real" looking faux plants and greenery out there and of course if you're not living there the real ones would wither and die. Make sure they're not weather worn from sun exposure or are too dusty - replace any dated looking ones with better quality.  Make sure the scale of the plants/greenery you use fits the space - nothing too large or too small.  I like what you did on top of the kitchen cabinetry!
