    Staging Overview

In today's real estate market, Home Staging is fast becoming a necessary piece of the home selling puzzle. Gone are the days you could simply hang a sign out front and wait for offers to pour in. Home staging is simply anything you do to prepare your home for sale. Home Staging is not decorating; it has nothing to do with your personal style or taste. Buyers don't want your personality or taste; they're looking to put their own in their new home. By neutralizing, depersonalizing, de-cluttering and doing cost effective updating you'll be presenting a home that is move in ready and just what buyers are looking for.

Many sellers ask, "Why bother getting my home ready before selling? After all, I'm moving; let someone else do it after I'm gone. I don't want to spend another dime on the place!"  Unfortunately, that is the attitude of many sellers, and the consequence of this "non action" is that no one will purchase your property, let alone make an offer on it unless you greatly reduce the asking price. Your home is possibly your largest investment.  Why wouldn't you want to get what it's worth? By doing nothing to present your home as move in ready, you are essentially leaving money on the table. Make this house work for you. After all, don't you want to purchase a new home? Can you afford two mortgages, utilities and upkeep for months on end? If you can't get buyers interested, you will most certainly be spending more than your share of dimes in the long run.

Savvy sellers are catching on that they need to be a part of the team of players who will make their home sales happen. Sellers, RealtorsĀ®, Home Stagers and a host of other professionals, working together, make the successful sale of a home smoother and more profitable. And after all, isn't that the goal?

    Re: Staging Overview

You know that I couldn't agree with this any more than you said!

Staging comprises anything you do to prepare a home for sale and contacting a professional home stager to help you indentify those areas that need addressing is a cost effective and proven way to get the most bang for your buck.

All homes in any price point can benefit from staging whether the sellers do it themselves, enlist friends to help or hire a professional (always a good choice IMHO) the results will amaze you!

"There's never a second chance to make a first impression!"
