I collect crosses and put them on our entry way wall. Is this considered too personal for showings? Will it be a turn off to buyers?
Be it crosses, angels, flower paintings, spoons, or whatever, from this picture it looks too busy.
You have a beautiful collection. For selling however, I always recommend packing up any personal "collections" especially this large because many buyers will be more interested in looking at what you own and collect over what you're selling - your house. They may remember the "cross collection at that one house" but you'd rather they remember "the great crown moulding and the large family room that was great for entertaining". At minimum reduce the number and use the larger ones as decor (no more than 3 or 5) - ideally though, it would be best to pack them for your next home.
"There's never a second chance to make a first impression!"
You have a wonderful collection of crosses, but I would most definitely recommend packing these items up while your home is on the market. It will absolutely distract from other features of the home that you would hate for a potential buyer to miss. Let them envision what they could do with the space without having to see past your own personal touches. Simple and neutral walls are the way to go.
